Next-Generation Sequencing

What is Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)?

Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) or second-generation sequencing is any of several high-throughput approaches to DNA sequencing using the concept of massively parallel processing; it is also called massive parallel sequencing or massively parallel sequencing. The technologies enable a highly efficient coverage on the depth of genomic information required to address biological questions. NGS can be applied in whole genome analysis, targeted resequencing, differential gene expression profile analysis, discovery of novel RNA species and split variants, genome-wide methylation analysis, microbial diversity analysis, and more.

When a high-throughput sequencing is not a must, Sanger sequencing is another choice for your sequence information. We are experienced in PCR-based Sanger sequencing for viral and other microbials identification and genotyping services based on microsatellite markers. Apart from NGS metagenomic analysis, we also provide pilot scale diversity analysis with Sanger platform in identifying unknown specimen submitted by the customer.
