MicroRNA Sequencing

Also named small RNA analysis, mRNA Sequencing specializes in the sequencing of small RNA-enriched libraries to study the expression profile and the abundance of diverse small RNA species co-expressed with functional mRNA species in tissues/cells at particular stages/time points. It allows the discovery of the whole panel of small RNA species, including microRNAs and other non-coding RNA and their potential regulatory roles on translation/function of mRNA in tissue/stage-specific patterns and disease association such as cancer, etc, with or without any prior genome annotation. The advantage of NGS platform is the low input requirement which opens up new opportunities in study of these RNA species in clinical or in vitro experiments which fall out of the sensitivity and dynamic range of hybridization methods. It also identifies novel RNA species and the SNP’s within them in an unbiased manner and provides the most precise mean to detect and quantify rare small RNA sequences.
